Greetings once again.
DEF 110 - TD5 chasis & axles.

I just wanted to post for the benefit of others that I was experiencing an annoying kangeroo/jerking effect while at lower speeds with little throttle application. It would require that I engage the clutch to stop it. After narrowing the cause down to front drivetrain slack I purchased 2 drive flanges (OE) and installed them on the front wheels couple days ago.
Even though the pair I removed were not that badly worn there has been a significant improvement in the defender's behavoir at low speeds/crawling. A noticable difference is seen as well when the throttle is released when the vehicle is moving at a fairly moderate pace. The backlash is reduced.

That being said, my next area of focus is the two flanges that are found on the transfer box output and the diff input. From my understanding these may develop worn splines as well.
Has anyone ever seen enough wear on these flanges to actually go as far as to cause drive train slack? Is it worth going through the effort to investigate them?

I should mention that I had recently changed the rear flanges, the ujs are in good condition and each flange, both on the transfer box and both diffs have zero play laterally.
