Morning all, does anyone have any sort of diagram for the window mechanism for the front drivers door?

Been playing with mine as it started churning and grinding and have managed to put a cable back in but something is still not right.

Thanks
:)

once it has fell apart i cant see you being able to put it back together, normally the jockey wheels brake off causig the cable to wrap up everywhere, think you will need to fit a new regulator

Well the jockey wheels (plastic white wheels?) seem to be intact. the cable had come off and I have managed to get it back on.....however, there is something going on at the top of the door - due to the intense sunshine today, I gave up.

Perhaps will have another go tomorrow to see if I can get to the top part.

if you have the door casing off take the regulator out to take a good look, two 10mm bolts to seperate the glass from regulator, 4 10mm bolts hold runners and 1 10mm bolt holds motor, it all comes out the big hole at the bottom of the door, once its on the deck you should see the fault.

You should be employed (and paid) by the forum as all your inputs go straight to the point and are very helpful for each thread you reply on.
Thanks for all the members and keep the good things going.

well any proceeds would pay for next weeks beer :)

In a responsible job as yours (for the forum I mean) beer or any other alcohol is out of the question, so forget about the beers next week.:D :D

ok back on track for two secs ;)

Pulled out the gubbins and the cables had wound out of the motor and were all buggered up.

So after much playing about, attempted to use some other similar style cable, and did this that and that other to try and stop cable from slipping,,,

bottom line......wound up, wound down, wound up - cable snapped and window dropped to the bottom

Now my father in law who was helping has gone off to get something to wedge the window up (currently using a stick of wood!)

So my question is, what can you get spares wise? can you get just the cables with 'ends' or do you have to buy the entire gubbins?

Thankyou all - off to bang head...

best thing for wedging door windows up are wooden clothes pegs. take em apart and you got perfect window wedges, we always used these when i worked for the AA ;)

Excellent idea! I have cable-tied the wood to the pillars but we were trying to find something wedge-like.

*waits until wifes back is turned* :)
