Front bumper

The mesh grille on my 02 freelander is a bit tatty and I was thinking about painting it, is it an easy job to remove the front bumper to get at it? Bearing in mind I have little or no knowledge when it comes to these things (I did buy the freelander in the first place!) Was also thinking of fitting a pair of spots in that area, probably rectangular ones if I can get them to fit, any ideas?

get the spotlight mounting brackets from ebay, about £20, the only way you'll get a secure mounting. when the bumpers off to fit the brackets, deal with the grille issue

Thanks for the advice but I was looking to mount the spots underneath the no. plate, just in front of the mesh grille. Would I still be able to do that with those brackets? Also the space is fairly small would spots fit in there ok?
