Hi

I have stripped my front brakes on my series 3 88. I have forgot/ got confused about where the springs go.

Picture or advice would be great.

Steve

If you have the old shoes still, look where they have slightly worn on the holes in the shoes. The springs go on the "back" of the shoes with the hooks protruding to the "wheel side" of the shoes. This pulls the shoes into the backing plate and up against the little adjusters.

Hope this helps, bearing in mind i've had a few pints.

The bottom spring is ok. The shoes are like New I've brought somebody's project. The top spring does it go from shoe to shoe or shoe to post on back plate???

Shoe to post on back plate so that it pulls onto the snail cam.(long hook end at shoe)
Spring behind the cam and hooks placed so barrel of spring is upwards and not resting on the spinning hub surface
