Having picked up a lot of very useful information from this forum, I think its my turn to reciprocate!

I like clean alloy wheels on my Freddie ....and YES I do use it offroad! Cleaning the brake dust off them was a pain so I found a product called Kleenwheels in the US who do inserts for a large number of cars including Land Rover:

Kleen Wheels US

LAND ROVER FITTINGS

They are easy to fit inside the wheels and you do not have to rebalance after fitment. I was also advised to fit a set of wheel mates to stop the wheels sticking to the hubs. I have noticed no change to either the handling or braking.

Both products can be sourced through their UK Distributor based in Exeter.

Kleen Wheels UK

They do not keep them in stock so expect some delay in delivery and double check your alloys are covered because they are only for US LR's.

are these the large rubber disc type thigs?? if so they can cause cooling problems wiff yer brakes if driven hard.

Alas they are not rubber inserts for the those that would prefer, they are aluminium and attach inside the wheel not on the hub.

Sorry they don't have neons only light sabres and they cost extra! Just the thing for upsetting BMW's!

Just found an even better way of reducing brake dust.....

Ive taken the pads and shoes out the front and rear brakes and so far i haven't got any dust at all.... Its only a test and until ive run it like that for a while i cant really say before but theres a few advantages over those pants covers:

1) No Pants covers behind the wheel
2) No wear at all to pads therefore saving money
3) No dreaded brake dust

The only problem ive found so far is i cant stop to save my life  This of course makes junctions and lights super tricky but i think it will be worth it.

Cheers

PaulN
