Freezing Powersteering fluid

Hi all.
My dad recently moved to Russia and took his Suburban with him. Recently
they had a very bad cold spell in which his powersteering fluid actually
froze in side the tubes and the reservior. I am trying to find stuff that
will keep this from happening since another cold spell is coming in and
supposed to last until March. Please help!

This is easy, just add a few ounces of kerosene to it (or a bit more if
needed) I used to do this when I lived in cold country where minus 50
was possible and minus 40 was not rare. Ad about a pint to tranny too.
It will evaporate when summer months come.

Keep in mind that not only the engine but the whole vehicle needs to
warm up. This includes gearboxes, tranny, axles and every piece of
plastics and hose that is supposed to move and bent during driving!

This is true but I have been in that cold and the biggest problem is
fluids and kerosene does the trick. Even a block heater does not help
much at minus 40, I used 2 block heaters in mine when it got that cold
and colder.
