Freelander wont start

Hi guys, new to this so here goes. My V reg 1.8xei freelander wont start, when you turn the key nowt happens, nothing turns over or clicks. After trying several times it suddenly starts and later same thing, wont start.. Its gradually got worse over the last week, tried changing battery on key fob but no joy. I have heard it may be if you let the fuel get too low but dont know. Any ideas gratefull, thanks

Sounds like the negative wire on the starter motor. Give the connector a clean with fine embry paper.

OK folks panic over. It was the ignition switch costing just 15.00 and fitted in minutes, result
