Freelander wheel nuts help!

Just a quick question for all you Freelander owners I have just put a set of the 3 spoke 17inch alloys on my Freelander and the wheel nuts that where originally on the car didn't have the washers built onto the nuts (they where horrible cheap looking aftermarket ones) any way iv fitted the new genuine alloys with the wheel nuts that don't have the washers attached to the end of them they are tight but feel abit soft like I could keep tightening forever do you think il end up getting over taken by a wheel whilst going down the road as a result of putting them on with the genuine wheels?!

did you buy the wheels new if so go back and ask them what type on nuts they take or do a search on internet you need the proper nuts to fit it is no use putting any on or disaster will strike remember a car is made up of thousands of nuts but it only take one nutter to part them all in you case the nuts on the wheel
