Check if the battery light is lit up on the dash when you turn ignition key If it is not the light my also be a fuse which needs replacing :( Dash out time if that is the case :( It could explain why you have gone through 2 of each. hope this helps

ta gypo, checked all fuses and the light is on when ignition is on it is stressing me out .aweb

Ok, You really need to disable the alarm to do this and also know your radio code.

Disconnect the battery earth lead. Put a multimeter inline between the terminal and a chassis earth point and see if you get a reading when everything is switched off. If you do get a reading then something is drawing current and that is what is flattening the battery.

Remove the fuses one at a time untill the current draw stops. You'll then find which circuit the problem is on. You now need to individually isolate each component on that circuit until you find the culprit.

:)

yup - i have known heated mirrors fail and draw current continiously, thereby draining the battery. I aint sayin that this is the problem here - just that it is a possibility.

fust came across it on my montego, many moons ago - only realised after several flat batteries and discovered mirrors were hot when i fust got to car in the morning.

ta will check that ,got alternater off going to take to another place and get them to test incase it is duff

Do you not have a multi meter? If you do put it across the battery terminals and run the engine. Put some load on, i.e. lights, heated rear window etc and then see what voltage reading you get. You may need to raise the revs slightly but you should get between 13.8 - 14.4 volts if the alternator is functioning ok.

taipan i ve had the alternator checked that is fine,i ve removed the fuse for the heated wing mirrors but they still getting warm when engine runnig.treid what you said about multimeter and puting a load on and it is reading 12.30 to 12.70 any ideas ta

heated mirrors will get warm when engine running - check mirror temp in the morning before yu open the car up - if they are warm - then they are running overnight - which they shdnt do.

check youve good continuity from engine to neg on battery or chassis. . .:)
