Morning all.
Help or advice please.My TD4 ( Y reg, 37K ) has what seems to be serious turbo
lag in that it doesn't kick in till 3000 rpm.However once it does kick in
everything seems to be ok.Has anybody else experienced this type of
problem.Answers on a postcard please.

Yes, it is relatively common on the TD4, as when LR altered (i.e. buggered)
the ECU software for the Freelander application they made it severely
breathless.

There are a choice of 2 software versions available at your LR dealer for
the TD4 which will improve but not erradicate the problem; for this you'll
need a powerbox / tuning box / superchip etc etc. which restore the TD4 to
near 150bhp as it is in the BMW applications.

..By powerbox,do you mean one of those "Autologic" diagnostic boxes which are
advertised in th LR mags.If so does this mean a trip to the dealer ( arm and a
leg ) or are they common amongst most independant garages nowadays ??
