help going round in circules
i am changing the clutch on my freelander td4 2002.
First question do I have to change the oil in my gearbox and transfer case?
If yes what spec and amount of oil in each one?
It sounds easy, but I cannot find a straight answer on the net.

Might just be me being dumb
Thanks for your help.
I live in france so please no buy this from GSF or eurocarparts or similar replies.
cheers

Hi,

You need to flush the gearbox,
The IRD ( transfert case ) is cooled by the car coolant, so you need to flush the IRD oil and car coolant ...

For the manual gear box use MTF94, specific oil, your best option is the main dealer ( Landrover ). It comes in 5 litter content, you will need less than the half of that. Anything else is at your own risk ...

For the IRD you can put 75W90.

For the parts, put slave cylinder from LUK ( unless you want to do the clutch again in 1 or 2 years ).
Bleeding the clutch hydraulic ... can be confusing.
