freelander surges at idle

2002 Freelander S Kv6 My freelander surges at idle and when I try to drive it the is no power. The CL has p1471 and p0174, p0171. I replaced the power vis with no improvement. I plan to replace the MAP as soon as it arrives. However I dont know where it is located on the engine. Amy help would be appreciated. Also I picked up a MAF off a 2004 freelander SE. It doesn;t have any number off it. Will it work for my model?

The engine management system and sensors have a few differences depending on territory. I'm assuming it's a standard US spec.
The MAP is on the plastic plenum chamber engine side of the throttle body.
I'd be checking fuel pressure before changing anything. There's a test point just left of the TB, it looks like a tyre valve. You need a fuel pressure of 60 PSI + or - 5 PSI. It's also possible for the E throttle body to play up. This can give similar symptoms to what you describe.
