hi im new to all of this i found this site by chance please read below my freelander problum
car usually starts from cold ok [one turn of key]
within 5 miles of driving to petrol station car has reached its normal running tempeture.
by time i fill up with fuel sometimes it just refuses to start, [you can imagine at this point what im calling it and everyone sat behind me]
i had r a c out on monday got home from stoke [about 35 miles] car wouldnt stat two hours later
r a c but that stupid quick start in and after he hooked battery pack up, a couple of attempts it started.
i dont think he knew what was wrong he plugged the magic computor in no fault found.
its had two new fuel pumps first one last dec, and one a couple of weeks ago the other one was very noisey.
when it wont start i would it sounds like there is no fuel getting through.
it broke down last month pulled up on services wouldnt start, this time it was the a a that came he sent me to get some fuel [there was a quater of a tank he pointed out fuel pump very noisey something i already new]
when i came back he had it started he wouldnt say what he had done.
has anyone any clues as to what it might be, its booked in for a service next week, so any pointers would be a great help
;)

check the camshaft position sensor as I think these can give erroneous signals when hot. Run the car, when it gets up to temperature, stop it, see if it starts, if it doesn't, spray some compressed air in a can on it (it'll cool it down quickly) and try again. If it starts, there's your problem.

a faulty camshaft sensor is indeed the usual culprit for non starts when warm.

use the 'search this forum' and type 'camshaft sensor' :)

THANK YOU for the replys will let you know if it works.
i know the fault dose not show on computor when they plug it in
my blonde logic it wouldnt show up unless car wont start, as they only plug computor in when they have it running ?
hummmm or is it me
