In the UK, thankfully.
Okay guys, my mate has a TD4 Freelander 03 plate. It starts no problem but if it is run for, say, 100meters then stopped for 10 mins, sometimes it will turn over but starts on only a couple of cylinders then fires on all four after a short time. Also, is the heater coil light supposed to light up every time the ignition is switched on? He is sure it doesn't always light up. Advice would be much appreciated. Is it the heater plugs or a relay or ignition switch or something else?

Sorry can't help with the misfire prob, but can tell you that the glow plug light on my TD4 is never seen from March to November.
Even on pretty frosty mornings it's only on for a few seconds. Only seen it stay on for any length of time when the temp is about -20 or so.
When I got my first TD4 in 2002 this no-show worried me as I was accustomed on other diesels switching on, waiting for the glow plug lamp to go off, and then start.
Freelanders don't seem to need much pre-heating.
