Hi Folks
I'm after a set of roof rails (not the cross bars but the acutal rails) for
my new to me Freelander but I'm a tight git and I dont want to pay alot! I
see they go for about 150 quid upwards on ebay and my brother payed about
300 quid for his as an extra when he bought his from the main dealer.
So does anyone know where I can get a cheap set?
Many thanks
Gareth

A scrap yard? Freelanders have been out several years now so they must
occasionally get one for scrap.

Try www.ebay.co.uk. I have seen them on there.

I'd be interested if you find somewhere... LR are having a laugh with
their prices, and having paid a fortune (even after arguing a
reasonable discount) for a CD changer for my wife's Freebie a couple
of years ago, I vowed never again to pay what they're asking if I
could avoid it.

As you say, I've seen rails on eBay go for well upwards of £150, and a
couple of ads in mags, etc, for similar prices, but all calls to
breakers yards (at least down here in Devon/Cornwall) have drawn a
blank.

Possibly a silly question, but are Land Rover the only company making
these rails? I wouldn't have thought they'd be too hard to
manufacture.

Good luck in your hunt!
Colin
