I have a '98 Freelander, and there is a consistent problem with the fuse for the rear wash blowing.
I have replaced the relay, and the pump but the damn thing still blows.
I would appreciate any thoughts as to what might be causing it.
It must be somthing stupid....
Thanks,

Does it blow the fuse every time ? Does it blow with the relay unplugged ?, if not the wiring where it goes into the door could be damaged and shorted to earth. ( should be a 15 amp fuse by the way )

Yeap, got to be what is left and thats the wiring. Suspect there is a wire that is scagged against the bodywork and is causing an intermittent short. Recommend you check the wire loom around the back door hinge post, within the back door itself and the unbilical that links the two. There is a lot of movement in these areas every time you open and close the door so this is the most likely place. You're looking for damage to the insulation. If you find anything then tape it up and try and redirect the loom so not to rub against the metal.
