Freelander rear sub frame mountings

Hi,
I have a '99 XEDI Freelander and have a problem with the rear sub frame mounting.
It seems to be broken where it mounts to the box section.
Is this a problem that anyone else has experienced - or has had it fitted?
I believe that the sub frame has to be cut out to repair it, or has anyone found an easier way?
Would be grateful for any help.

not sure where you mean to the box section? do you mean the body?

the rear subframe is only held in by 4 bolts so its just a matter of pulling out the rear drive shafts removing the rear diff, then removing the subframe
