Freelander Parcel shelf (Can I change the colour)

I hope to buy a Retractable Parcel shelf for my Black 2003 TD4 Auto 5 door, the only problem it"s Grey. The only reason I want to buy it is because it"s spotless. What I want to know, Is it possible to Dye, Paint or somehow change the colour to Black because it will stick out like a sore thumb?
Has anyone done the same?

You can get paints for synthetic materials. It's not that permanent, if the surface isn't cleaned correctly. Can't you get one in the correct colour?

No, I have tried locally with no joy and the only ones I can find are from scrap yards up North and I"m worried they could be ripped or badly soiled.
The one I hope to buy is practically unused, but obviously the wrong colour.
