Got my Freelander a few weeks ago and signed up here. I've noticed that non Freelander owners seem to have some sort of misplaced "superiority complex". They give a lot of stick to Freelander owners with the "wouldn't pull you out of bed" and "hairdresser's car" remarks..... but seem to spend a helluva lot of time reading the Freelander forum and dishing out the abuse. My message to the "non-Freelander-my-knob's-bigger-than-yours" fraternity is simple. It's often not the car but the driver that is at fault when a car performs like a bag of spanners. So it seems that yer discoverys and the like do give you better performance in adverse conditions (the current new Ice Age being the perfect example).... but that you reaaly need it to make up for your inadequate driving skills. My Freelander might not be the ultimate 4x4 but it hasn't slipped or skidded once since I got it 4 weeks ago.
Still at least while your crap driving is being covered up you look all macho and tough.... eh?
Cheers
