I have ordered a new 5dr Freestyle TD4 and have been offered an optional 3-year Paint Protection at £260.00 by my dealer. Could anyone tell me if this is good value? and as I can't find any info on this product, I would appreciate any information on what this "Potection" includes. Cheers

Its an application that is applied in 2 stages exactly like a polish, you apply stage 1, when it goes cloudy then you the apply the polish (Stage 2) and buff off, at £260 you have somewhat had your trousers pulled down as the kit is available off e-bay for £20-£30 and do it yourself.

Its called Diamond Brite and is the salesmans extra bit of cash in his pocket just like the bonus he gets if you take his 'Must have finance' package. All car sales guys try to push this cr#p for this very reason, they normally offer carpet protection for another £30, again this teflon spray can be bought anywhere for £5 a tin and sprayed on by yourself.

In my opinion it isnt very good as its supposed to prolong you paint finnish and remove the need for polishing the car but its utter garbage and isnt worth the cash.

Get your money back or allocate it to something for the car that is an optional extra.
