So my freebie is going up for sale. It's been my daily commuter for a couple years now and been great fun. Unfortunately, it's coming up for MOT and I don't reckon it will make it through. If I could take it off the road for a month I reckon I could fix it myself fairly cheaply, but I don't have that luxury - nowhere to do it, and don't have another car to get to work in. I reckon a garage will cost me about £800 for repairs, and for a car that's only probably worth about £1000, I just can't justify that expense.

However, cos I'm a bit attached, and it's super tidy and a good runner, it does seem a shame to scrap it. I've put list of details below, but it's really clean inside, very tidy outside. Offers welcome, please feel free to get in touch.

Spec:
- Diesel 2.0L TD4
- BMW engine with timing chain
- Silver, 3 door, ES trim
- '52 plate, pre-facelift

Notes:
- 100K miles
- 2 keys, plus 2 fobs
- Roof rack can be included if you want
- Aftermarket stereo fitted with bluetooth, aux in and steering wheel controls
- Windows all function perfectly except for recent issue with passenger window (see below)
- Leather seats in great condition for age, some wear but not excessive
- Full oil change at 90k miles
- Steering hydraulic fluid changed at 90k miles
- Comes with original LR boot trays and rubber footwell mats
- 2WD conversion - has always been like this, personally for me it's a plus when I see all the posts about VCU issues and maintenance of the 4WD version.
- Leather seats
- Working Air/con - recharged just last year, works well
- Heated front seats (yep they work)
- Split sun roof
- Powerfold electric folding wing mirrors
- Some slight corrosion on the drivers door ledge - see pic
- small crack in front nearside wing

PROBLEMS
- Rear brake pipes need attention, this is my chief concern. These tend to corrode and I'm not sure if they're good enough to get it through an MOT.
- Some problems cold starting, this has been long term, but it's never failed to start. Just have to turn it over for 20-30 seconds.
- Passenger window worked fine until it froze up last winter and I broke the regulator trying to put it down without realising.

MAINTENANCE
Some minor maintenance items are due. I don't want to fix them in case no one is interested in buying, in which case it's a waste of time. But if anyone is interested, I'm happy to sort them myself or leave them, whatever you prefer:
- 2 new front tires needed
- front wiper blades worn

Looks clean I hope someone saves it, brake pipes are easy to make shame you werent closer id have done them for you.
GLWTS

From MOT history looks like it needs brake pipes and possibly a rear subframe. If it has no rot to the shell would be interested. Have spare subframe and, as above, pipes are straight forward. What is interior like??

@kevstar tis a long way, haven't been there for too long.

@andyfreelandy - I've just taken a load of pics of the inside and added them to the post for you. LMK if there's any specific details or queries you have.

Sorry the boot is a bit dirty, haven't given it a proper clean. Generally just surface mud though as it's gets used for kids bikes and wellies. I'll try and upload some close ups of the shell and exterior later too, there's hardly any rust on the shell, only point I'm aware of is a small hole on the door sill where the run off pools. Will check properly later and confirm.

Just had a look, please see pics attached, there's a small patch of corrosion on the drivers door ledge. Passenger side isn't as bad although there is beginnings of a small mark. Apart from that I can't see any other corrosion on the shell.
