Wow - 5 Freelanders listed as duffers! And 5 Merc A class, 7 C class, 4 E
class, 49 duffer VW golfs and 10 duffer BMW 3 series. Looks like there are a
lot of desirable, reliable cars that don't do as well as the Freelander.

We should all go and buy Protons as they only list 1 of them as a duffer. .

Perhaps I have been very unlucky with one dealership (Lancaster in
Reading), however due to my poor experience of late they have given me
no enthusiasm about the Land Rover marque - and because I have
included Land Rover in my communication efforts I think one has to
draw a conclusion that maybe Land Rover are just as much to blame.

I won't be buying another Freelander even though my initial 3 years
ownership was very positive. I don't like being taken for a mug by a
dealership who don't live up to their promises.

Fine, more of the excellent Landrovers left for the rest of us.

When I bought my Freelander, the heated front windscreen was only available
on the V6. Too bad, as I wanted a Td4 ...

A heated rear screen is of more use with a Freelander...................

Keeps your hands warm when you are pushing it after when it breaks down !

Funnily enough we have some Protons at work as ambulance rapid response
units. (The fleet is mainly Ford Mondeo and Focussesses.)

The Protons are never off the road for engine problems. They have a really
keen engine. It's a shame that everything else keeps falling off.
