freelander handbrake faukt

Hi,
i have recently noticed thst my handbrake light does not go off when the brake is released. i live on a steep hill and have the brake on tight. when i release it the light stays on. could this be the fluid level or the switch ticking in the on posititon? if it is switch is it easy to access it and fix. appreciate advice thanks.

unscrew the four screws holding the arnrest/cubby box in and you should be able to see it in there, you probably broke it pullin it up too much.
