Freelander fuel gauge problem

Hi

Can anyone help

My freelander 1 1.8 fuel gauge works when ingnition is on but when engine is started it returns back to empty

I have checked all the connections at both the dash and top of fuel tank

could be the start of ign switch problems, anything else not working?

hi jumperman did u solve ?? iam have same kind of thing at the mo but mine does change levels (wrong levels) while driveing its up and down like a yoyo

there was a batch of floats that were porous, this created a yo=yo effect, and meventually gave constant empty tank

thanks freelance will have to look in to geting replaced
