Hi all,

My Freelander recently overheated due to a split cooling hose and I had to get it dragged off to a Garage. Now whilst the hose and water pump was replaced, it seems that the damage was bad enough to warrant a replacement of the housing assembly 'thing' that houses the water pump, as well as the A/C unit and the alternator.

Unfortunately I have no idea what this part is called and neither does the garage! My Hayes manual isn't helping and neither has the the internet so far...

Can one of you fine people help me? I am aware that this is a little vague but it's the best I can do!

Many thanks,

Olly

A complete punt - but I reckon the plastic thermostat housing warped from the heat and is now leaking so it needs replacing. Perhaps the garage told him the A/C pump and alternator need to come off to get to it. That's my guess until the OP comes back and lets us all know.
