Freelander Diesel Engine Upgrade

Hello,

The first 2.0D L-Series engine feels a little weak and I wondered whether anybody tried to improve its performance. The only information I found is that "JE Engineering" has a package to improve the performance from 96bhp to 125bhp.

It will be helpful to get your insight on this issue.

JE Engineering are undoubtably brilliant. Ring them for an idea of the price.

If you are on more of a budget, one of Roverron's boxes might be the answer. Do a search for "roverron" (or was it "roveron"?) using the search button at the top of the page.

Tiny is an L Series. Try these mods and you should have a smile on your face.

A - De-cat (remove cat, smash out the innards, replace)
B - Blank off the EGR valve (£5 for a blanking plate)
C - Tweek the boost release a few threads on the adjuster.
D - Tuning Box
E - Upgraded intercooler.

Tiny goes like stink and at 160k + does not smoke one little bit.
Beware - after the de-cat there will be clouds of smoke but after 100 miles or so it clears up.
