freelander clock

Hi all ,I am new to this news group so please be gentle.....
I am about to take delivery of a 2000 freelander Xei,I have noticed the the
stereo and clock are linked,will fitting a standard single slot cd player
affect the clock-I have my eye on a nifty Panasonic-or does any one know of
a single slot cd/mp3 player under £200 that will display on the freelander
clock?Thanks for any help.....

I changed the radio in my '97 XEdi and the clock continued to function OK.
Obviously it did not display information on the radio/cassette though. If
in doubt just disconnect the existing unit and see what happens.
