Freelander Brakes

Hello all. I've got a Y Reg Freelander with about 63000 miles. Back in January the front o/s brake seized and resulted in a distorted disc. The garage replaced both front discs but only one caliper. Yesterday the front n/s brake seized.

It seems that 63000 miles is not a very high mileage for brakes to start seizing - or am I wrong. Has anyone had similar experience?

63000 miles does seem very low to have 2 seized calipers, especially if not being used off road.

Thanks for that. Do you think there's anything to be gained by taking it up with Landrover? I suppose they'll probably say "tough"!

seen as it is a y reg its definate that landrover will say ah well, after all its 6 years old. 63000 is average mileage for that age but it depends on how it was done. if it has done 30,000 per year for the first 2 years of its life then no miles since, it could explain the problem. have you got the previous mot's. check out the mileage on em

Thanks. It's done regular mileages. I've had it since Dec 2003 and use it regularly. MoT in March 2004 showed 38000; it's now circa 63000.

seems a short lifespan then
