Freelander aerial issues

Don't know if anyone can offer advice, managed to snap off my freelander aerial and the bold sheered off so have had to replace the whole aerial, bought one off e-bay however when connected up radio will not receive any stations have tried the connector both ways round? Am completely baffled any advice welcome?

Only thing I can think of.......has it got a good clean earth where it attaches to the body?

Hi, as well as good earthing for the coax screening (outer brading). It's vital that the aerial mast is insulated from earth, this is usually achieved using rubber or fibre washers.A simple check with an ohmmeter will prove this.
