Hello, new here,(first freelander)
My Issue, if someone can help, had the car looked at by a pro and still can not over come the issue.
Freelander 98, has run fine for the 3 months I,ve had it, last wednesday problems started ,tried to start in the morning, started after some time, ran all day no problems, drove about 15km total, same thursday.Friday no joy at all, would not start sounded like a fuel issue.
Took out fuel pump checked no power, ran a cable from the battery, pump fine, thought it may have had some damp,Car still will not start, however pump fine, noticed the cut off swith under the bonnet would not stay down, so disconnected the switch and rewired. So pump fine switch unit disconnected
result, STARTED after 2 minutes of having the igition permanatly turned on,after a good rev and a recharge of the battery with the aid of another car I turned on and off the car 3 times no problems, took car for a spin.
Drove 25km total, next morning(today) tried to start, same issue fuel starvation?
Bit lost and so is the pro who I telephoned, johnson & perrot cork fobbed me off with "crankshaft issue will need to bring it in"
Day 3 my kid miss's school again,bus to far to walk(she's 6)
Could really use some advice
Thanks in advance
