Freelander 2014 handbrake fault

hi my freelander 2014 has a fault on the handbrake , it shows press ok to turn off fault so i do and two lights stay on ,sometimes if i flick the handbrake on and off quickly the lights go off and the handbrake works and the lights stay off, well for a while anyway. But more often the lights just stay on after pressing ok,ive done a diagnostics check and it just says general wiring fault ,Any ideas,thank for reading my problem. Kieron

Are you getting a specific code, and what reader. Could be a specific LR code that is more descriptive.
Hopefully someone will come along with more FL2 knowledge, but more info can be helpful. Do you hear the handbrake release and if so does it sound different, maybe one side releasing.
