Hi there I have a freelander 2 09 plate. Had a problem with the automatic gearbox. So got a reconditioned one and changed it. No problem shifting gears since this. Then randomly a warning light came up on dash saying transmission fault traction reduced. I have changed the filter and oil on haldex unit even replaced the pump. The fault code disappeared until the next day as soon as I started it again boom transmission fault and now its saying special program not working or something along them lines I now have the battery charging to see if rhats the fault. Any ideas??

Battery.
If it's more than 4 years old, then it's voltage is dropping enough to cause errors on the data buses.

Also do you let the system check complete before starting the engine? It's correct to wait, or data corruption on the data buses occurs, due to low voltage, resulting unnecessary error codes.
