even better, lets ask round and see if anyone has a set they don't want just as the snow is coming. with any luck, they can ship them so I get them just as the snow goes !

Just been issued a set by my firm , only come today so better not flog'em just yet :D

I have found the Freelander to be incredibly good on snow and ice,
as said, a good set of AT tyres works wonders

Out of interest, anyone ever tried "SnowSocks"?
AutoSock/Auto Sock. The Textile wheel cover for Driving in Ice and Snow.Auto Socks get you Home!

yep, handier to carry, weight less and easier to put on but.....
they are not as effective. i wouldn't use em again, i didn't have any confidence in em at all. they really struggle with deepish snow and ice where the chains just dig in and grip (good job they were samples:D)

OK thank you for all your constructive (and unconstructive) comments.

FYI I'm towing a caravan to France to go skiing and its a legal requirement to have chains.

I'm looking for chains that fit ie WEISEFELS CLICK CLAC QUATTRO or LR SNOTRAX SYSTEM TEC as these are the only ones that will fit due to the crap clearance between wheel and suspension.

BERNIE ARE YOU OUT THERE AS ALL EMAILS SENT KEEP BOUNCING BACK
