So for background my son has recently bought himself a freelander 2. He was experiencing intermittent loss of power - sometimes when he started the engine it had power other times it had no power at all. With what codes were thrown up the garage first suggested replacing the throttle pedal which didn’t help so after it was replacing the throttle body which was done yesterday and seems to have resolved the issue.

However there is a new problem - when turning of the engine the car shudders.
Could this be linked to the new throttle body or is there other things that could be causing it?
Our local garage is great and usually tells us to source the parts etc ourselves so it is cheaper and we only pay labour (I’ve used this garage for a couple of decades since starting to drive myself).
So was hoping for an idea on what could be causing the issue before going back to them so we don’t waste time/money trying fixes that won’t be related

Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere as I did read through several threads and couldn’t find an exact scenario of what my son is experiencing

Hi Cek.
First what Fl2 is it year,& TD4 or SD4, was the shudder on closing down the car there before the throttle body was changed? i think the throttle needs to be coded in, are al connectors to the throttle fully pushed home, can't understand why the garage told you to change the throttle pedal, it's not good practice to just throw parts at a car, because you never know which part fixed it, and it becomes expensive.

What is the car like when starting?
