I recently purchased a 2013 Freelander 2 HSE SD4 with 75,000 miles and almost new tyres. At speeds above 50mph I have noticed a rumbling noise like a dry / damaged bearing but not sure how to identify which one. I guess it could be wheel bearings, CV joints or Haldex unit. Does anyone have any ideas how to start fault finding?

Check tyre pressures are all the same. Check all tyres are the same and wear is even. Go for a longish drive, avoid harsh braking, and see if one wheel hub is warmer than the other three. If one is warmer, then the wheel bearing is suspect. If one disc is hot (careful, can be blisteringly hot!) then you have a stuck or sticky calliper, or the handbrake has stuck.

If this was a Series I would remove rear prop', go for a drive and see if noise stops.
Tyres have to have equal wear, but Haldex failure is common.
