Freelander 2 2013

Hi all,my drivers side electric window has started to move about 2 inches at a time either up or down,ive tried the reset from the handbook but it hasnt worked,ANY IDEAS PLEASE,

I had the same issue with my front passenger window. The garage quoted me £280 for a new window motor but I decided to live with it.
It cant be much so if someone knows a fix please shout up.

First off, can you edit the thread title to show the fault, and vehicle. Just having the vehicle details is useless should someone do a search for the same issue at a later date.


Unfortunately the fault will need to identified with a suitable diagnostic reader. The windows on the FL2 are driven with an electric motor in the conventional manor. However the motor is powered by a controller module within the door. This door controller module is under the command of the BCM, which will store the reason why the window isn't doing the full travel.

You're best bet is to get the codes read, rather than try changing random items.

You can get a code reader for the FL2 for under £100 (Icarsoft I930), which although basic, will save its cost many times over in time.
