Hi All, I'm new to this section as my other car is a P38. Anyway I hope you can help.
I was talking to 3 friends who all have similar model FL2's but 2013 post facelift models and they get much better fuel consumption. I average 30mpg, then on motorway on cruise control at 70, about 34, Friends average 39/41 and 45/47 on motorway at 70. Are their engines dramatically different or is it a reprogramming of ecu and could I have this done? Is there anything else to cause poor fuel consumption?
Thanks for any constructive comments.

FL2's are more modern efficient diesels. The P38 is a heavier, older generation less efficient vehicle. Even if all vehicles were running perfect, the FL2 will still be more efficient than a P38.

Hi Hippo, Thank you for your response. I'm sorry I probably wasn't very clear . I have a 2012 pre facelift FL2 manual as a daily driver, which is what my post was supposed to be about rather than the P38.
I was under the impression as you quite rightly pointed out that FL2 's have a more efficient engine but its not showing up on my fuel consumption. Have you any ideas how to improve fuel consumption?

What are you getting and what do you eggspect to get?

The auto's won't do as much mpg as the manuals.
