I have a question regarding the 4wd I bought my freelander last week and the guy told me when I looked in the boot to find two massive long silver pipes that these were taken off as u could get nearly 10mpg extra just having it in 2wd I did notice there is no switch to operate 4wd to 2wd is this true or have I been had?

The pipes are the propshafts but I seriously doubt you would get 10 extra mpg by running in 2wd!! 2 or 3 mpg extra at best is all I get .
