My 2006 freelander td4 engine went bang in a big way, conrod out the side of the block, cam shaft snapped etc. Replaced engine with a 2002 freelander td4 complete with wiring looms from breakers, which refuses to start, but will run on easy start. Diagnostics shows that at least 6 engine sensors have faults which will not clear. Do I need to swap wiring loom from original engine or ECU? Any helpful advise would be good.

Does a TD4 engine have con rods? Thought it was an overhead cam and as such wouldn't have them.
Maybe someone shot it with a crossbow.

The con rod is the connecting rod between the piston and the crankshaft. You are likely thinking of the valve pushrods.
