Freelander 1 problem anyone help

I've been having problems for sometime now,

When traveling in freelander 1 it just cuts out no warnings no lights not overheating just dies . This week I have had my head gaskit done head skimmed pressure tested new pump new belt and uprated head gaskit .
Thought great all fixed . Went out for a couple of hours drive and on way home same problem dead. It seems to happen when get to just over quater of a tank . I waited and got it going again pulled in petrol station filled it up and seems alright . I'm wondering .... is it fuel pump, filter, sensor, guage, im out of ideas guys.

You need to get fault codes read. It does sound like fuel starvation, pump or filter but a code read is worthwhile to give you a first direction to go in!!
