Folks, I've checked the search engine and can't find a solution to this.
CL communication has gradually failed over 6 months. At first, pressing the fob a couple or 3 times would open the doors as usual and the more often the locks were used during the day, the more responsive the system became. Gradually, it took more and more presses to lock or unlock until about a fortnight ago it stopped working altogether. I've dismantled both fobs, cleaned them out with electrical switch cleaner and installed new (genuine) batteries with no improvement. The full system works faultlessly on the key and will lock and unlock all 3 doors without fail using the switch on the centre console.
My thinking is that there's a breakdown between the radio receiver in the car and the driver's door lock. Can any of the gurus out there point me in the right direction, please? Many thanks.

If that doesn't work I have spare receiver modules available. They are purely a 430 Mhz receiver with no coding done in the receiver. Maybe it's gone deaf!!

Good advice chaps. Thanks a lot. Andy, if I need to take you up on that offer I don't think we're more than a few miles apart.

Modules ere. Check the wire loom ain't come oft.

UPDATE
Removed receiver from on top of cluster and unplugged terminals. A wee drip of switch cleaner, wiggle it about a bit, both fobs now working as Land Rover intended.
Thanks for your input, chaps, much appreciated.
