Greetings! Which of these two engines is more long lasting and
reliable in a F150 pickup truck? I am thinking of buying a new 2004
F-150 in future? I can not decide which engine is to choose? With
thanks.

They are basicly the same engine, like comparing the 302W to the 351W.

I vote for the 5.4

They both have been around for awhile, but to very different degrees.
The new 5.4L uses the 3 valve technology and quite a few other things,
whereas the 4.6L is almost exactly the same as last year, with a few
minor bugfixes. The 4.6L is more refined, while the 5.4L contains much
newer technology.
