Sendspace worked, does that have all the info? The original SMD interface would be difficult to reproduce unless the integrated cicuits are available in non SMD form. A one off PCB to accept SMD components would cost a bomb. The simple interface circuit could be reproduced on Vero Board, not pretty but would probably be OK. Not sure that the 2 different circuits are for the same job tho? Need to spend some time to look up the SMD IC's.

Sorry, SMD's = surface mount devices, very small, glued to PCB then soldered normally by machine. Vero is a sort of PCB the can be used for making one off's without any etch process using soldered in wire links, could be use for one of the circuits. Either way not a 5 minute job:doh:

Will look properly later, got to cut logs or we'll all freeze to death:eek:

Hate to tell you, but if the resistor has actually overheated and burnt, it is just the symptom not the cause. Something has overloaded the circuit of which the resistor is a part. :(:(:(
