Floppy gear stick help

Hi, i have a 1986 LR 90. the gear stick has gone floppy, and cannot find any gears...does anyone know whether this is a gearbox prob, or can be fixed relatively easily. I have little mechan knowledge. I have removed the trim and unbolted the 17mm bolt and taken off the gear stick. Exposis a large 'ball style' joint....many thanks in advance for your time...

Is the turret not loose? 13mm bolts x 4. For the whole thing to be wobbly the turret is most likley loose if the gear selection is bad or the spring is not holding the gearstick between 3rd and 4th then thats a different issue. take off the center transmission tunnel and check the 13mm bolts Jai

Sounds like an earth problem to me I'd get ya wiring checked if I was you.
