FL1 Clutch ? TD4

Hello all.
This what I have been dreading. The clutch pedal seems now to need to go all the way to the floor to function. Untill the car has warmed up some.
I have read the Haynes manual and it gives a description of changing the master cylinder. I'm looking to do this as a last ditch attempt to solve the problem. Fingers crossed.
As it goes I can not make out whether you can change the master on its own.
Any advice welcome.

have you checked the fluid level in the resovoir ? if it is low then possibly the slave cylinder is leaking, they do not seem to be very robust, on both my FL1s the clutches were replaced and the slave cylinders came out in pieces

Hello all.
As it goes I am more than chuffed. Under the believe that the clutch system was a sealed item, I've never touched it. On realising its not, I took a look.
Nothing to loose eh. With a torch I could see brown murky contends.
How did I miss this? All other stuff has been changed. And I mean all!
So with system bleeder and the where abouts of the bleed nipple found on we went. With in half an hour I had my clutch pedal back.
The fluid in there must have been original stuff.
So there you go, lesson learned. More to the point, One of the best motors ive owned and would be really missed is still going!
Will be 20yrs old next year, and runs great.
