Fitting Exmoor Trim forward facing fold up seats & belts

Today I have been braving the cold and trying to fit a pair of Exmoor Trim forward facing fold up seats in to my 1994 90. Work has ground to a halt as I have a whole bunch of questions :doh:. So if you have fitted these I would be grateful if you could share your experiences.
  1. How far did you position your seats from the back of the 90? In mine its looking like they need to be about 24" from the bulkhead to the front of the hinge.
  2. The seat belts do not have any nuts for fitting the inertia reel. They look like M10 but are not. Any ideas of size?
  3. Ditto the floor mounting buckle stalk anchors
  4. Ditto the anchor point that bolts through the wheel arch
  5. There are no spreader plates for the floor mounting buckle stalk anchors
  6. Ditto the anchor point that bolts through the wheel arch
  7. There is a strange L shaped bracket (about 2" long) with a nut and bolt - any idea where this fits in?
  8. How/where does the inertia reel mount?
    [*]The kit was also missing 6 nuts and bolts to fit the 2 x top mounting brackets (not really a big problem just annoying)

The instructions that came with it were woeful. Given how much this is kit cost I'm really disappointed :mad:.

Did your Landy have seatbelts fitted in the back before? Mine has holes with captive nuts underneath which are the thread you describe (I know this because no metric bolt will screw in).

I'll be interested to hear how you get on - I want to fit these seats myself when finances allow.

Lol sean upset the last man that said they were crap instructions and missing bits when its quite plain exmoor of late have evidently been sending crap instructions and not all the parts or indeed the wrong parts to their customers while taking quite a bit of money. Best bet is to ring them explain whats missing and ask them to send you the missing parts if any. And they will most likley be quite helpful but you will need to bring it up with them.
 
Ian - My 90 started life as a County hardtop so did not have any older seat belts, I've not found any captive nuts either.

I think taking it up with Exmoor Trim is the way to go. I was just keen to understand if I was making a mountain out of a mole hill or if anybody else had had issues/could offer advise. I'll report back on what Exmoor have to say.

Sorry they are not fitted yet. I emailed Exmoor trim 10 days ago and have not had a reply. I've sent a chaser today. I have fabricated some brackets to move the seats out slightly (40mm each) to allow the munchkin space to walk in between the seats.
 
Fair play, I didn't get anything with mine as I bought them on ebay just the seats and frame.

I have had them in the back for a trial fitting which is when I have come up with the idea of fitting them backwards which along with the snow holted my fitting.

I have bought the required bolts and locking nuts washers and wing nuts. Along with a full set of belts with brackets.

I also have the 4 point seatbelts from Exmoor trim but I like the look of the TD4 Defender rear belt brackets - they would solve most of my issues in one go. Any chance of a part number?

Lol not as yet but I was going to see if the main dealer have one!

If I get one I will let you know. (If you find it 1st feel free to let me know :))

I do like the idea of it all been in one tidy package, also since the roll is higher it will make the belt longer!
 
I can't believe what I've just read on this thread, I just got a left side exmoor forward facing to fit in my 90, ordered through MM and I have exactly the same experience of missing parts and even sent the wrong instructions, if you can call one badly printed small diagram instructions. Like it said at the start of the thread for the amount of money it cost you would expect better.
 
So did anybody fit these new rear sea,belt,s into an older Landie? Did you get a price and part number? Were there any issues with the securing of the bottom fixing point with reference to security....did you he'd to put a speeder plate underneath?

Exmoor forward facing seats. separate seat belts. I didn't show the spreader plates we used, 1 on each side inside the wheel arch for the main connection point, 4mm 5bar plate oversized, basically fit the biggest spreader plate I could.

1 big plate in the middle to suit the seat belt mounting.

cost £100 from newbury show, only 1 minor leather mark, and a couple of scratches on the base plates. proper good deal.

position, with the backs in there upright position the tops are 1 inch from the rear window. when in the seat and pushing back to hard to simulate offroading the seat doesn't touch the window.
