Britpart Cellular Dynamic Shocks.
Replacing my Terrafirma shocks with Britpart Cellular Shocks.
The threaded spigots are shorter on the Britpart and the bushes are thicker.
67mm either end on the terrafirma. 52mm and 57mm on the Britpart.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
I spoke to Paddocks where I bought them from and they say they are a direct replacement for the original ones. The only advice the offer is to compress the bushes to get the nut on.
Helpful advice would be welcomed.

Yes. I did exactly the same and encountered the same issues.

Withe the car on axle stands, I put the thinner (old) bushes on the bottom and tightened up which compressed the new top bushes and then buzzed off the nut, removed the old bushes, fitted the new and tightened it all up.
Before that there wasn't enough thread to get the nut started.

There's not much thread sticking out the bottom of the nut which worried me at the time but they never moved and have been fine for the last couple of years.

I only problem I had was they sent the incorrect bushes, which they replaced.
Instructions tell you how tight to do up the bushes.
The other problem was they lasted a couple of thousand miles and both failed completely 😕

Do you have a vice? If so, squish the bushes in the vice for a bit and they'll go straight on.

Other options are to use a different bush, or you could cut the bushes down, but obviously cutting them down gives less bush, so may wear sooner. The ones supplied will go on and work.

How did you know they were the wrong bushes?

We have the Celluar Dynamic shocks on 3 vehicles currently. They seem a very good shocks for the money.

Wrong shape.
I have also fitted them to my son's D2 and Ninety and they have been fine on there, so I must have been unlucky with my ones.

I had to get narrower bushes. The Britpart ones measured 40mm plus four spacers 6mm plus the thickness of the suspension plate 3mm
Total 49mm and the end spigot on the unit is only 52mm.
