First photo is double sided tape in place ( £1 for two rolls in B&M ) Can't be arsed with all that sealant and gunge. Second is skin in place, I've always used the underlay that's used with parquet flooring, it's impervious to water, easy to use and cut and everyone and his dog has got some in his shed. No need to cut around the clip holes, they just push through. Worst part of the job was cleaning the previous sealant off, but WD40 managed the job.

Good idea using laminate floor foam and double sided tape. I used some old plastic sheet for mine and stuck it down on one car with gaffer tape, and the last one with masking tape. Will see next time I have the door card off how well it lasts.
