I ordered a Paddocks soundproofing kit recently as it was only £65.00
Got it fitted today, typical paddocks quality. Every part needed trimming, one of the parts was cut completely back to front on the felt. Apart from that it's certainly dulled the cabin noise.
I was a bit worried about water retention and I kinda prefer the agricultural feel of bare metal but overall I think it's fine.
I didn't use the felt on the floor. I bought a 6x4 sheet of stable matting and cut that to go in the footwells. At least this way water wont be a problem and I don't have to glue them in.

I've been looking at that kit for a while, and couldn't decide , if you had the choice again, would you still buy it?? :)

Heya,
Hmmm it's a difficult one. If I had a bit more to spend I would have probably gone for the noisekiller kit, but for this amount of money it's fine. I wouldn't say it made a drastic difference but it's muffles my perkins to a level where I don't have to shout to have a convo. More like talk loudly.
Apart from the obvious issue of one of the parts being cut out round the wrong way for the gearbox tunnel, the only other issue is that you need something over the top of the soundproofing in the footwells. It's only felt so you will soon wear through it. I used stable matting. I got a 6x4 sheet for £25 or paddocks do a carpet set but this is another £65
I would say for the money it's fine. If you've got more wedge to spend have a look at noisekiller.

i remember on me 88" petrol years ago i used rubber neoprene backed bathroom carpet from B&spew cost me £20 and apart from the wind whistling through the door gaps it was almost silent

the main reason i chose bathroom carpet was so it wouldnt smell rotten or foisty when i got in with me ****ty wet boots on and it could take a bloody good jetwashing now and again

Neoprene backed carpet , I didn't know there was such a thing, I must get out more!! :D

Neither did I. It sounds ideal though!

I don't really want to put a full carpet set in my series due to to the fact that it will just get damp and mouldy after a few rain falls.
