Was thinking about getting myself a new Car at the end of the year but am now thinking about going for a Landy! :D

I'm 18 and will be travelling 2 hours there and 2 hours back from the Army base most weekends. A Car would probably be more comfy but somehow I'm drawn to the Landy, aren't we all?

Was thinking 110 Pickup like the one my old man's got but a tdi Instead, maybe even get an ifor williams cover to keep stuff In the back dry.

What kind of mpg can I expect from a tdi?
How much can I expect to pay?

Any Info welcome as I'm seriously considering it..

:welcome2:

im 18 insurance mines 1850 with a years no claims;)

mpg im getting 22mpg(i do have huge tyres though) thats a 90 a 110 may be less

a factory tdi 110 anything from 2000-6000 grand
a td with a tdi conversion will be worth slightly less than a factory fitted tdi 110

if i were you id stay away from the td as i think its pants get one thats had a conversion or buy a tdi there great motors if looked after:D

other than that fook cars get your self a real motor a defender :D

Rather than ask "how much" - you're better off coming up with a budget and then finding out what you'll get for it. Age and mileage has much less influence on the value of Landys - you can find 25 year old cars that have been much better looked after than 10 year old cars (and I know which I'd rather buy).
Buying a solid TD and then upgrading to a TDi later is a good move if you're happy to do the work yourself - if you pay someone to do it then you might as well buy a TDi in the first place.

I'm going to be doing Mechanics In the Army so after a while I should know alot of what I need!
Can you get roof tents for pickups?
What weight can they take In the back?

:confused::confused:

Anybody else gonna pick him up on that? :p:p

Imagine that this is a single cab not double cab;)
